Why we choose clean skincare and what that means for you
Pick up any skincare product from the supermarket and read the ingredient list. Chances are you'll come across terms like "perfume", "paraben" or a string of synthetic substances whose names you can barely pronounce. These are ingredients that have been used in the cosmetics industry for decades, not because they are good for your skin, but because they are cheap, long-lasting, and easy to process.

Your skin absorbs more than you think
The skin is the largest organ of your body and it is not an impenetrable wall. Substances you apply to your skin daily can pass through the skin barrier and enter your bloodstream. Small amounts, but they add up with daily use.
Synthetic fragrances are one of the most common causes of skin irritations and allergic reactions. Certain preservatives have been under scientific discussion for years due to possible effects on hormone balance. And formulas full of artificial fillers often do the exact opposite of what they promise: they temporarily soothe, but in the long term disrupt your skin's natural balance.
Clean ingredients are therefore not a luxury. It's simply the better choice.
What we DO use
All Belle Lueur products are made with certified natural and organic formulas. As much as 95% of the plant-based ingredients, such as vegetable oils, botanical extracts, floral waters, butters, and waxes, come from organic farming. No animal ingredients, no artificial fragrances, no common allergens.
We work with active ingredients that are proven effective: hyaluronic acid for deep hydration, niacinamide for an even skin tone, vitamin C as an antioxidant, bakuchiol as a plant-based alternative to retinol, and shea butter for nourishing and repairing the skin barrier. Substances supported by science and provided by nature.
Certified, not just a claim
The word "natural" is not legally protected anywhere. Any brand can put it on a package. That's why Belle Lueur attaches great importance to independent certification.
Our products are certified by ECOCERT under the international COSMOS standard, one of the strictest and most respected standards for natural and organic cosmetics worldwide. This means that an independent organization has checked what is in our products, how they are produced, and where the ingredients come from.
In addition, our products are manufactured in a factory with ISO 22716:2007 certification, the international standard for good manufacturing practices in cosmetics. And they are fully registered in the CPNP, the official European notification portal for cosmetics, which means that every product complies with all EU and UK regulations.
